The future of hardware engineering is autonomous, and we are building the AI layer that makes it real: a platform that gives engineering teams the tools to design, validate, and evolve hardware systems with the speed and intelligence that hardware has never had.
Every complex machine in the world — a satellite, a commercial aircraft, a high-speed train, a quantum computer — is the result of hundreds of engineers working across dozens of disciplines, trying to stay aligned on something that has never been built before. Today, they do it with spreadsheets, email threads, and tools designed for a different era. The coordination cost is enormous. The margin for error is zero.
AI agents have transformed software engineering. Hardware is next. But agents today are blind to the engineering context around a complex hardware system.
That’s why synapse™ provides the structured engineering context that connects system architectures, requirements, verification, workflows, and decisions in one traceable platform. It gives both engineers and AI agents the context required to design, validate, and evolve complex hardware systems at the speed of software.
synapse™ will become the foundation layer for a new era of hardware engineering.
Just as GitHub sits behind modern software development, synapse™ will sit behind the world’s most advanced hardware systems. Every satellite, aircraft, drone, train, and complex machine will be designed, validated, and evolved with synapse™ at its core.
Our goal is simple: to accelerate engineering and, through it, the progress of humankind — in Europe and beyond.
Achieving this bold vision requires ambitious people who are ready to take ownership, move fast, and help build the future with us.
We are not looking for someone to join an existing engineering culture and simply fit into it. We are looking for someone who can help build it.
As a Software Engineer at Systellar, you will work directly with the founding team and the technical leaders shaping synapse™. You will own meaningful parts of the product, write and review production code, engage with real customer problems, and help turn ambiguous engineering workflows into software that works.
This is a hands-on product engineering role. You are expected to deliver clean, reliable, well-reasoned code across the stack. You should be able to understand trade-offs, challenge assumptions, and explain why a solution is good — not only how it works.
The technical bar is high. We expect you to be able to deliver code at the same standard of quality, clarity and reliability that we expect from technical leadership. The difference is not craftsmanship. The difference is scope and decision ownership.
You will not be expected to define the company’s architectural principles, technology strategy, or most complex system-wide decisions alone. That responsibility sits with senior technical leadership. But you should be capable of operating at a high technical standard within those principles: making strong local decisions, identifying risks early, asking the right questions, and escalating architectural uncertainty before it becomes technical debt.
In practice, this means you can build excellent software within a strong architectural direction. You can assess trade-offs, spot risks, and push back when something does not make sense. But for foundational architecture, technology choices, system-wide patterns or long-term strategic technical decisions, you should want and use guidance from someone setting the technical direction above you.
The right person for this role does not wait passively to be told what to do. They bring opinions, care deeply about the outcome, and want to grow into increasingly complex technical ownership.
